Blessings and Sad News

Our family was truly blessed today. Early this morning I took Michelle for her checkup with the GYN. Her incision is almost totally healed. The nurse is coming in tomorrow morning and then that is it. There is no need for the nurse's visits any longer. The doctor also had the lab report. The cyst was benign. I am so thankful for your prayers and support during this time. You all have definitely been a blessing to me. Blessings have been raining down upon us from every direction. God is good.

Sad news for Canada once again. To date 81 soldiers have died in Afghanistan, the latest being Sgt. Jason Boyles, a 32 year-old from Ontario.

Wednesday Sgt. Boyles' body will be flown into CFB (Canadian Forces Base) Trenton. Boyles belonged to the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, which is based in Shilo, Manitoba. Boyles was killed when he stepped on a landmine on Sunday, according to City News at Six in Toronto. Boyles is a native of Napanee, Ontario, not far from CFB Trenton. He had recently started his third tour of duty in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was to have been in Afghanistan for six months on this tour.

Over 2,000 coalition forces stood at attention while his coffin, shrouded in a Canadian flag, was loaded onto a military plane for the trip home. Machine guns were silent while a lone piper piped Amazing Grace. Eight of his comrades carried his coffin to the plane. He is being described as a warrior.

Please pray for the family, loved ones and comrades. of Sgt. Boyles. I'm sure he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

On that sad note, I am signing off for tonight. ~Blessings, Mary~

  2. Hi Mary,

It is always sad when a soldier falls. May this be the last one!

It was nice to hear that Michelle is doing better.

Thanks for all the kind things you said on my blog. Yes, we are very lucky to have grandsons. And you are so right that when they come running with outstretched arms, well it just doesn’t get better than that.

I have been very busy and have had very little time to go wondering around the blogs, but I have thought or your blog and did wonder how Michelle is doing, so I’m glad she is doing well.

    Take care,

  4. I am sorry about Sgt. Jason Boyles I hate war and I pray everyday that we can just get it done and come home.... I am very political and I have very stong views of such, but I pretty much keep my mouth shut as I am the soap box kind of gal......

I am thankful for the good report on Michelle.... I know that has to be such a weight lifted from you..

Life is a bit too fast right now for me and it seems that I just have no time to come and visit... Looks like I might have to have that surgery after all... shots not doing much good..... but I am still hopeful.....

take care my friend and have a great Wednesday.....

  7. Oh dear....those kinds of stories about our troops always make me choke up. And it's so unjust...me being quite political these days, it just makes me pray that all the men and women of our countries can go home and be at peace once again.

I think it's wonderful that Michelle's cyst is benign. That is some awfully good news. There is alway that little part of us that will hold worry. But positive thinking and strong prayers are answered.

I emailed you about the PSP question. Hope you can get the screenshots to open. :o)

Glad you liked the flower show I shared today. And boy, it's so sunny out...cool, but sunny!! A beautiful day here [for now, I hear there are more storms coming our way tho]

I know you sighed a sigh of relief when you were told the news about your baby(she will always be your baby)
It is so sad that SO MANY have lost their loved ones to this war. Five years is too long. Each of those families suffer in some way or other due to their lost. Let us all pray for an end to this one. Peace
