Autumn Has Arrived

Today is the first day of autumn. It was a balmy day here today with drizzling rain and high humidity. Autumn means rain in southern Ontario. We haven't had frost yet, but some areas further north have.

In autumn I like to walk in the woods. The photos in this post were taken last year when Brandon, Mom and I went to Muskoka for three days. Brandon loved walking in these woods that were in the Muskoka Wildlife Center.
This is a view along Highway 35. The trees were dressed in their autumn gowns and the area was breathtaking.

This is Fairy Lake, Huntsville, Ontario. The landscape was stunning. I would love to live on that little island in the middle of the lake. Such tranquility is rare in today's world. We are always hustling and bustling everywhere.

Autumn is a beautiful time of year to enjoy nature in all her splendor. Be sure to take time to enjoy the sights, sounds and fragrances of the season.

  4. Isn't it amazing that just like an artist begins to add splashes of paint onto the white canvas to create his/her masterpiece, so is our God only more so. The tree lines are His canvas and already we can see His splashes of paint as the Master's piece begins to unfold before our very eyes. :)

  7. Driving home from town this morning (had to bring the car in to get checked out because the engine light was on) I noticed how much our trees are now starting to change. Another week or two and they'll be in their full autumn colours. Love the pictures you took from last year...hard to believe a year has gone since then already!! It's another gorgeous day here, 20c and sunny. Heard on the news that Calgary was seeing 34c today! Happy Autumn to you my friend:-) xoxo

  8. I love the little island, too. It rained here just a little today. The maple trees across the road from where we live are turning. I love the maple trees in the fall.

  9. Have I said that I miss red in the fall! On the praries everything is yellow, gold or brown, very little red. Thanks for the glimpses of a red fall.

    God bless.

  13. That's such a nice picture of Brandon, I agree, you should frame it! Fall is my most favorite time of the year. It's quite cool here now and today the wind has really been blowing up a storm. The horses love it and have been running and snorting and just enjoying their life! Our trees are starting to turn too.
