My friends and regular readers will know that my friend, Jo Ann, is terminally ill. She has refused treatments of chemo and radiation because the cancer was stage 4 before it was found. The cancer has now moved to her bones, liver, stomach and lungs. Originally, it was only in her jaw.
Friday night she had terrible nightmares and ripped her intravenous and feeding tubes out. Saturday night she had a good night but Sunday night she once again ripped out her intravenous and feeding tubes. She doesn't want any more nutrition and told the nurses she's had enough. They have increase her morphine and she can take it whenever she needs it. She is not in pain but the doctors have told her family her body is shutting down.
Because of body shut down, they have moved her to pallative care. I'd like to thank you all for continued prayers. Please pray she won't suffer any pain and that she will pass over peacefully.
I was so happy to see that you visited with me this morning!! I've been concerned with you since you haven't sent me an email...I was sure it was because of JoAnn and your concern for her well being!
ReplyDeleteEverything happens for a reason...tho it's painful to see a friend go through so much at the end.
Regarding your comment tho: "Anni, The van has had the window fixed and it is expensive. I'm glad that the garage fixed your tire for free. I'm sure it was still under warranty. There's always something going on. We do need our vehicles but repairs really are expensive." ----the tire wasn't FIXED it was replace with a new one. And no, I didn't buy a warranty on them. So this was just from the kindness of the company's heart. And the window?----I don't like the automatic windows...you can fix 'em yourself without dinking with electrical. It's a conspiracy. rofl
...well, that was odd. The power musta gone off for a second. I couldn't get back in here. Just wanted to clarify my typos above. I meant to say replaced instead of replace and another typo can should have been can't fix 'em without dinking with electrical. LOL I need to read before I click 'post comment'.
ReplyDeleteSorry 'bout that.
Asking God to be by Joanns side through all of this, love you my friend.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're a great source of comfort to your friend and even though she will be with the Lord doesn't mean that you won't miss her. I'm glad that she has you there for her.

ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear she is not in pain. I think that is the worst thing for a terminal person to endure. May God have mercy and she passes quickly and peacefully. Also may you find comfort knowing she is not in pain. Peace be with you.
