Wacky Weather and Other Bits & Pieces

We've certainy been having some wacky weather here lately. Last Wednesday we had hurricane force winds. Thursday was a beautiful day - much like spring. Friday morning at 3am, it started to snow and didn't quit until about 9pm that evening. We dug ourselves out Saturday and spent the day resting from our efforts. Sunday and Monday were both sunny and beautiful.

I didn't get to sleep until about 2am this morning and then was awakened by a noise. At first I couldn't figure out what was going on. Then I realized it was rain pounding on the roof. And it was pounding. Lightning flashed across the sky. Thunder rolled. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. There was a thick fog that had settled over the land and I could only see about a block in the distance.

The thunder and lightning quit sometime after I had drifted back to sleep. When I got up this morning, it was still raining and continued to rain until just after noon. The fog had lifted but the day was overcast and gray and it still is.

Makes me wonder what we are in store for next. No one can predict what wacky weather is just over the horizon.
Prayers are needed for those of us online and at home who are struggling with health and other issues. Please pray for these people.

Deena at Can I Be Pretty in Pink? - Deena is battling breast cancer and has had her chemo delayed due to an infection. She has an appointment for this Friday. Let's pray that the infection is gone and she will start her chemo.

Nita at Red Tin Heart- I don't know Nita personally, but she does need our prayers. She lost her huband John on Sunday. Please stop by her blog and leave a comment. She needs our support.

Karen at Karen's Korner - Karen is having a difficult time. She's faced financial problems, her daughter has been sick and there are other issues in her life also. Please lift Karen up in prayer.

Denise at Shortybear's Place - Denise has ongoing health problems associated with diabetes, as well as other health issues.

Cynthia at Walking On - Cynthia is going through a very difficult time. Her children are losing their vision. What a burden for any mother. Cynthia has eight children. Please drop by and leave her a bit of love.

Carolyn at Talk to Grams - Carolyn is having trouble with her shoulder and arm. She and her family have also been dealing with the flu.

Denise at Samaritan Women - Denise is a prayer warrior. She is in need of our prayers as well.

All of these women need prayer for one reason or another. Please drop by their blogs and leave them a loving comment.

Update: Thank you all for your prayers for Griffyn and his Mom. They are still ill, but feeling much better. Griffyn's croup is gone and now he has a cold. I appreciate you taking time to pray for them.

Thanks also for the prayers for my daughter, Michelle. She was able to go to work on Saturday and again today. Your prayers are very much appreciated. She will have her surgery on the 19th.

Do a kind deed today. Kindness brings hope where there is no hope. ~Blessings, Mary~

We had two thaws in January and we also broke records for the coldest days in January...figure that one out! lol This morning I woke up to freezing drizzle but by afternoon it was sunny. I will indeed keep the mentioned people in my prayers...I've always said the power of prayer works:-) Mary, I was going through some papers earlier and came across the Tinkerbell postcard you had sent me from Florida...I don't think I ever thanked you for it!! I'm sooo sorry about that. THANK YOU so much for thinking of me, I just love it:-) Take care my friend and stay warm. xoxo

  11. We had a heck of a week last week!
Wedneday the wind went crazy and there were 80mph gusts reported and Thursday it started raining ice! Joe actually slid into a guard rail on the way to work it was so bad!! He's o.k., though and then van will be fixed by Monday.
But today we're supposed to get more ice and then snow!!

  12. Mary,

The weather sure is "wacky." Occasionally we have a thunderstorm during the winter. But I have never seen such a bad thunderstorm with lightning! Usually, it's just rumbles of thunder. We seem to be in a sleet phase now. New Hampshire is becoming Ice World. I feel bad for the folks hit by the tornados last night.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the people you listed as well as the tornado victims. And of course, Brandon always has a special place in my heart. I'm glad that he will be with you during Michele's surgery. I'm sure that will be a great comfort to him. How is Jordan doing?

    Take care, my friend.
    Hugs,
    Tina
