Please pray for my neighbor Marrianne. She had just received word that she had a job interview in Nunavut next week. She got the word on Wednesday and they had planned to fly her in for three weeks to get the feel of things. However, on Thursday she phoned me crying. She had gone out in her slippers (silly lady) to shovel the snow off her deck. She fell and hurt her knee badly.

When she went into the house, she went upstairs. (silly lady) and I told her to come down on her backside. She did but something went wrong and she fell down the stairs and put her leg through one of the spindles...the same leg that was injured in her fall outside.

She went to the hospital this morning about 2 am and is still there. They were to perform surgery at 10am, but all was delayed and she was still lying on a gurney when I went to see her at 3:30pm.

Do I see a pattern here? Possibly she is not meant to go to Nunavut or possibly she is not to go at this time. I ask you to pray that God's will be followed.

Enjoy your weekend and remember to take some time to spend having fun with family. ~Blessings, Mary~

Update: Marrianne has been admitted to hospital and her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, please keep her in your prayers. She's in a lot of pain and more serious emergencies will bump her back. This I can understand but it's still not very nice. However, she is more comfortable as of 9pm, when they found a bed for her and gave her something to eat and drink.

  1. Congratulations on the award!
Your poor neighbor! I'll be praying for her.

  2. Thank you for the award Mary. I will post it tomorrow. Will also say a prayer for your neighbor.

  3. mary...congrats on the award and please know prayers will be lifted for your neighbor!

    ~AirmanMom returning to her blog...

  4. ouch! your poor friend, praying for her here.

  5. Poor Marrianne. Best of luck to her.

  6. Yikes and Youch!!!

  7. Hi Mary!!!

What a great award! Thank you so much my sweet friend! I'll grab it and post it on my blog real soon...

I just read your plumbing disaster blog entry too...Whoa! I hate to say this, the words just came to my head...but when it rains, it pours!! LOL, sorry 'bout that. I know it wasn't funny at all when it happened! I sure hope your floor isn't ruined! And I hope that is the last of the leaking from above!!! Man, that's the pits!!!

I'm trying to play catch up froze on me yesterday. So, I'm doing my "Thursday" visiting on Friday. Go figure.

Hope you have a super day.

  8. Oh, and ps....of course your neighbor is in my prayers...what a tragic thing to happen to her. What kind of surgery are they going to do for her?

  9. Wow, what a series of disasters! It does seem like there was a message there about the job!

  10. Hi Mary,
    Super award!
I feel so bad for your friend.
Paula & I are book worms thanks for sending her "Christmas bus", so I could share it too.

  11. Bathroom and water yesterday and today Marianne. Hope better things happen for you in the future.

  12. So sorry to hear about your neighbor! I really do think Someone is trying to give her a message about that job. I just added her to my prayer list. So sorry you have been under the weather. Those bugs have been going around here too and just knock you right off your feet. Also sorry about the water coming down through the ceiling! Hope your floor is okay. I think if you got it cleaned right up quickly it should be. Congratulations on the award, I can't think of anyone else more deserving then you Mary! xoxo

  13. COngratulations on the nice award Mary. Certainly you deserve it.
I hope your friend Marrianne will heal quickly after the surgery. What an awful thing to happen. Like you I would wonder if perhaps it wasn't the Lord's plan for her to have that job.

  14. It sure sounds like God is closing the door for Marrianne to go to Nunavut at this particular time..
I hope you feel better very soon...

  15. Congrats on the award! And I'll be praying for Marianne.

  16. Oh Mary, I did just what your friend did years ago and literally was unconscious outside in the snow on my steps! Makes you wonder as you said about the interview! If you've a sec, could you pop by, I have a teeny favor! Now you be careful too!!!! Love,Lori

  17. Hello dear Mary:-)

Can you believe how behind I am with visiting? lol Not enough hours in a day to do everything I need to do!! Congratulations on receiving such a wonderful award, my friend, and thank you so much for passing it on to me as well. Coming from you, this is such an honour!

Oh no, poor Marrianne, I do hope she's finally had the surgery and is now recovering! The worst part is just laying there waiting for the surgery to take place. Remember Steve when he broke his leg? Here he was with a leg badly broken in 4 places and he waited 3 days before they finally could schedule the surgery at a different hospital!!!!

Hope you're feeling better yourself, dear Mary! xoxo

  18. I'm glad you like the award and I'm delighted that you've passed it on so quickly to such wonderful bloggers who hopefully will do likewise. I hope you're feeling better. I'll certainly pray for your neighbor who seems to have had a string of ill fortune all of a sudden.
    Hugs and blessings,

  19. Congratulations on the Award Mary, and thank you so much for honoring me with it.

I will keep your neighbour in my prayers. Hopefully she will not be bumped from the surgical rotation.

    God bless.

  20. Mary, I am just now reading this post. I prayed for your friend even though it is many days since her surgery.
Thank you for the award. I have a post ready with it and it will be posted this week.
    I love you,
    Mama Bear
