Dog Park Photos

It was a beautiful day here today. No need for even a jacket. So hubby and I decided to pick the boys up from school and take Dakota to the dog park. Brandon phoned yesterday after school and wanted to go, but the wind was chilly and I was in too much pain, so I told him maybe today. So this afternoon, I popped a couple of ibuprofen and used some of the deep heating rub and off we went.

The boys were surprised that we picked them up. Of course we had their mother's permission.

We arrived at the dog park and the larger dogs came to check out the puppy. Dakota was none too brave at first and wanted to stay close to us.

Then Brandon got him running around and they were having some fun, but he tried to avoid the other dogs. Pretty much impossible in a dog park. There were about 30 dogs there of all breeds and sizes.
Jordan holding Dakota. That's not going to happen for much longer. Dakota is getting too big. Normally he doesn't like to be picked up, but since he was in the dog park and feeling a bit vunerable, he cooperated. Notice the tongue hanging out.

This is a good shot of Brandon and Dakota. Brandon adores him and Dakota loves both of the boys equally well. Nice photo of both of them. Dakota is really good for Brandon. He laughs and has a ball with that puppy.
Jordan and Dakota. Jordan started running and called him and Dakota wasn't long overtaking him. The white dog in the background kept jumping on Dakota and he didn't like it at all. The fur on the back of his neck stood straight up and he barked furiously.

Just before we left for home. We were there for about an hour. Dakota came home and had a long nap. It was good exercise for everyone and a lovely day to be out and about.

I hope you were able to spend some time outdoors and that the weather was as beautiful in your part of the world as it was here. ~Blessings, Mary~

  8. Oh my gosh.....just LOOK at how large Dakota is already, would you? Wow. Y'know I've always wondered just how those dog parks work with all the furbabies running loose....how does one keep from dog fights? But, none-the-less it looks like a good place for them to intermingle with other humans as well....a terrific idea, these dog parks!!!

The boys look like they're enjoying the surprise with the grandparents too. What a wonderful day all around.

  10. I think doggie parks are grand. We don't have one here.

Our dog Daisy sure isn't a brave girl. I hope Dakota makes some friend at doggie park.

    Coffee is on.

  11. That was a fun filled hours at the park. I think it is so nice that areas have dog parks. The youngman who is moving to B'ham Al had to find an apartment complex that had a dog park as his big Lab/poodle called a labradoole needs a place to exercise. Maggie sure is gonna miss the big blue dog. I thought that knee of yours was getting better. Let me know how it goes. Peace

  12. Dakota is just gorgeous and oh my, he sure has grown a lot in just a few weeks! It's heartwarming to see the interaction between the boys and Dakota, you can really see the love on both sides:-)

Oh Mary, I just finished watching The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and I'm still bawling here at the ending...what a fabulous film, so well written. The difference between both boys, one so innocent and the other having gone through more than a child should in a lifetime, tugged at my heart. I never expected that ending but considering what the story was all about, I guess there was no other way. I really did love it and wanted to thank you so much for suggesting it:-) xoxo

  13. Dear Mary,
So glad you had a nice day, we did also. Love the pictures, and Dakota is getting so big. I had the dogs out most of the day, they are now zonked out. I am also, planted 6 rose bushes and dragged hoses all over the yard. I am not moving real fast now and will need Aleve before bed. But it is a happy ache. Best to you.

  15. Our dog was not socialized enough when he was young and is very intimidated in a dog park. Good for you for taking your Dakota along to one. Hope you are feeling better.
