Not Much Happening

There's not much happening around here. Today was a long day for me for some reason. It seemed to drag on and on...

Yesterday Brandon saved us from a bit of an accident. He found Dakota with a battery out of my digital camera. How did he get it? He must have put his front paws up on my desk and taken it. He had chewed on the battery and made dents in it, but hadn't broken through. Thank goodness. I have no idea what battery acid could do to a dog's mouth and I really don't want to know. I doubt if it would be good. So, Brandon probably saved us money on a vet bill or worse.

It was a beautiful day here today. The boys and us had taken Dakota to the dog park on Thursday and this morning he was hyper, so hubby and I took him. He likes to be dominate and an older male dog put him in his place.

Not sure what we're going to do tomorrow, if anything. It's the long weekend here and the roads are packed with traffic. I don't like traveling on long weekends. It seems the craziest of drivers are out on the road on Labour Day.

Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. I know Labour Day is celebrated in the Canada and the US. Enjoy and stay safe.

  4. I had a big old mix dog named Mickey that ate everything in sight. He ate birthday cakes and 2 pound bags of M&M's etc. I had just read and article about God giving animals i.e. dogs the ability to heal themselves. Shortly after Mickey got in my purse and ate an entire bottle of 250 Ibuprofen tablets. It was a long weekend and no Vets were available. I looked at Mickey and said,"Okay big fellow, God's gotta heal you this time." Mickey survived the tablets and lived 11 years more after that.

  5. Dakota is a bit to curious for his own good! Thank goodness Brandon found him before it was bad.

We never travel on holidays for that very reason. Give me a good quiet day at home!

Are the boys excited for school to start? Just think, ours have been in class for 3 weeks already!

  9. Such a shame you live so far, you could have come to Killarney for fish & chips with us:-) I brought mom & Ross and they so enjoyed it. It's been such gorgeous weather over here for over a week now and supposed to continue all this week as well. We're having the Summer we never had!!

Oh dear, it certainly is a good thing that Brandon found the battery Dakota had!! Pets are just like children, they put everything in their mouth! lol

Happy Labour Day to you too my friend, I'm just relaxing finally and visiting my bloggy buddies:-) xoxo

  10. Yes, dogs like to chew on everything, I'm glad Brandon caught him before it went too far. We've spent the weekend at home and enjoyed the nice weather.

  11. I have been enjoying my time with Kris, even if it meant that I didn't get a chance to post as much as I would like.

Kris is still smiling and laughing, but seems a bit quiet over all. I hope that his depression is getting better. It seems to be, but he is one who keeps things to himself.

Hope your holiday weekend was a good one. Thank heavens Dakota didn't get a mouth full of battery acid.

    God bless.

  12. I think that would have been very bad if Dakota got into the battery acid! Thank goodness Brandon saw what was going on and stopped it! A blessing for sure!
