It's Been a While...

It's been a while since I posted anything here and just want to let everyone know we're doing well. The grandsons are coming today to help do some yard work to get ready for planting time here in southern Ontario. I'm hoping to put a garden in but not sure what I'm planting. I did buy tomato plants the other day. We always plant tomatoes. Maybe some green peppers, beans and potatoes? I really wanted to plant sweet corn, but there are too many raccoons around here to do that.

In other news, hubby's cortisone shot really relieved the pain in his hip. He's doing great now and back to normal. I still haven't received the results from my heart monitor, so guess all is well. I'm hoping that the dr would have phoned if something was wrong. I'm still having palpitations every once in while. Guess my heart just feels like dancing.

Brandon and Jordan were sick all last week with allergies. It's that time of year. They finally got back to school on Friday.

Not much more news here. It was very warm yesterday, over 80 F., but today is considerably cooler, which makes me happy. The heat and I don't mix.

Hoping to have something more interesting to blog about soon.

  1. Your grandsons are sure a treasure! It's so nice of them to come over and help. Of course, you've been a big part of their life, so it's no wonder they like to spend time with you.
Allergies have been bad here too.
I would think the Dr would call you if they found anything serious, so that's good news. Glad to hear your hubby is doing better too.

  2. I would think the doctor would call you either way so your won't be worried about it...but then that's just me! Are you finally getting Spring? It seems rather late her, no flowers or open windows yet, not warm enough to plant but I am planning to plant, does that count? Have a nice Sunday Mary and thanks for popping in.

  3. Hi Mary,Karen has suffered from allergies this spring, too.We have had some really hot weather and but we are enjoying some really nice weather this week. It is in the 70's!! We had some awful weather Sunday afternoon with tornado's all around but none touch down. Some folks got hail.
We are back from my sister in law's funeral. We took plenty of the little oxygen tanks for Nancy. It did wear us both out. But I wanted to go up to Iowa and be with her family. She is the last of my family. My folks are gone, sister and two brothers and now all of their spouses. This has been hard for me.I still have cousins, nieces, and nephews!
So glad your Grandsons can help!
    Love and hugs, Grams

  5. Hi Mary. I just wrote a comment and it disappeared so I will try again.
Basically I wanted to tell you that I get palpitations too and have learned that caffein, monosodium glutamate and steroids really cause some bad ones. Even cortizone skin ointments cause me to have them. Sometimes they were so bad I had to be hospitalized. Any stimulant seems to bring them on, even B vitamins. I don't understand why. I have learned that If I stay away from these things I have very little trouble. Hope this helps,
    God Bless
