Wax-Dipped Bear Room Freshners

Now blogger is going to upload my photos, so will post the thread I was going to earlier. This afternoon, I made some more 12-inch wax-dipped bear room freshners. I made some during the summer and fall and sold them and now I've made some to give for Christmas gifts.

These little guys were made previously. They are dipped in wax and then I fluff the fur to make them look rugged and rustic. I put raffia on them for ties. Everyone loves them and they are so nice as I scent the wax. These room freshners will fill any room in your home with a wonderful fragrance - and they last for years. If the scent diminishes, all you have to do is heat the bear carefully with a hair drying or heat gun and the fragrance is revived.
When the wax has completely dried, I wrap them in cellophane and then tie a ribbon around them and curl it. They make a lovely presentation. So, that is what I was doing this afternoon before I took my grandson to the farm (see post below.)
As far as my thanks and giving challenge post, I will put that up tomorrow.

  3. Tina,

They do make great gifts. I would send you one, but know you are allergic to fragrances. :-( Take care, my friend and have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  4. Kelli,

Thanks for your comments on the bears. I enjoy making them. Homemade gifts are more special, I think.

Canadian Thanksgiving was in October, but would love to celebrate with the US. I love turkey with all the trimmings.

    Blessings,
    Mary

  6. Cynthia,

Yes, I was very busy today and had a lot of fun making the bears and taking my grandson to the farm. Keeping busy is my way of warding off the depression that sometimes lurks its ugly head in my life. Who could be depressed making these lovely bears and spending time with their grandson.

    Blessings for a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  7. You should do a tutorial on how to make those bears, Mary. I know I'd be interested in learning exactly how to make them. They should be very economical to make, and lovely to receive!

  10. Good Morning Mary,
These bears are just beautiful. I bet they smell really great too. I can almost smell them through my puter here. LOL. I tell ya, most of my blogging friends are so crafty. Me, I'm not the crafty type. Never have been and don't guess I ever will be. My mom and sister used to be crafty. If you have time today, stop by because I have something for all my blogging friends. I do hope you will like it. It is raining here this morning. Cold air is gonna arrive later on tonight. Well, take care my friend. I am out visiting this morning. I have already posted. May God Bless You and Yours.

    Hugs,
    Karen H.

Please forgive me for what I am about to say. I am one of those who jumps at the opportunity to pun. Therefore....Your bears are sure to MELT their receivers hearts. They'll just have to grin and BEAR it!(Melt, wax get it? hahahhaha)
