If you remember, we entered the gates of MGM Studio in my last post and the MGM Studio Parade was just about to start. If you missed that post, just follow the link. It was terrific.
When the parade was over, we started through the park. Suddenly we heard a loud noise that sounded like car engines - really loud car engines. Before we realized what was happening, a gate opened and out drove Lightning McQueen, the sports car from the Disney Pixar film, Cars. Right behind him came Mater. Now the boys loved Cars and collected the scale models that starred in the movies. They're the same size as Hot Whe*ls and are made by Mattel. So, they were thrilled to see Lightning McQueen and Mater. It happened so suddenly that all I got was a photo of Lightning's backside.
However, I was able to get a better one of Mater. We were actually too close to get a good photo. Look closely and you can see Brandon's reflection in Mater's window.
Just across the street was the Star Wars ride. The boys and Grandpa went on this. Grandma isn't much of a ride person anymore. Brandon got off the ride and said, "It's a good thing you didn't go, Grandma." However, they enjoyed it.
Across from the ride was this Star Wars vehicle. It was there as a photo opportunity and each of the boys sat on it and had their picture taken. Jordan loved it.
Brandon wasn't sure he wanted his picture taken here, but I talked him into it.
Right around the corner from the Star Wars ride was Muppet Vision. Here they had the pipes painted primary colors. Sitting on the top was a little sparrow. Brandon wanted a photo of it. If you look closely you can see it on the wheel.
Then the boys and I had Grandpa take a photo of us standing next to Kermit.
I took the camera and tried to get Grandpa in the picture. No dice! The boys were willing though.
This is the front of Muppet Vision. There were actually two Kermits guarding the doors.
And a fountain showed some of the characters. This was a nice spot.
As you can tell from the photos, it was another cold and chilly day. We wore our winter coats, though it wasn't as cold as the day before.

Jordan has a thing for New York City, so when we stepped onto the Big Apple's streets at MGM, he wanted a photo. He took one on his own camera and wanted me to take one as well. Why not? I've never been to New York City. He and I plan to go one day.
After we explored New York, looked in some gift shops and the boys used their own money to purchase more Disney Pixar Cars, they asked if we could go back to the hotel. They were cold, hungry and tired. We could have seen more but it's no fun if you've had enough, so we headed back. It was about 5pm. We did have a great time exploring MGM though and maybe one day we will visit again.
Have a wonderful Sunday and do a kind deed today. ~Blessings, Mary~
Dom and I went to DisneyWorld a couple of years ago. We went into MGM and walked the New York streets. It was a little before Christmas and the streets were filled with Christmas lights. What a great scene!

I know what rental properties are like. It's not easy. There's always something when you own a house or a rental property. We just had our washing machine break down and we need new windows. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteTake care and be sure to let me know about the appt tomorrow.
Blessings,
Mary
I love Cars! It's one of the very few movies I actually own on DVD.
ReplyDeleteHope your Sunday is blessed, dear friend. ;o)

Good Morning Mary,
ReplyDeleteOh wow, another day in Disneyworld I see. I loved the photo's you took. I loved the movie Car's as well. We took the girls to see it when it came out in Theater's. Unfortunately, Momma was so tired and I slept thru most of it. LOL. Later on when it came out on DVD, we rented it and I watched it all then. It was a good movie. I loved all the cars they had in the movie. You and the boys look very nice standing in front of Kermit. Gotta love Kermit. The street of New York City is beautiful. So they have some stores like New York City does? I sure do hope one day that we will be able to take our girls there to Disneyworld. I bet yall were tired and ready to get back to the Hotel. A person can only take so much. "THANK YOU" so much for sharing another day from your vacation with us. I so enjoyed it. Our youngest daughter was feeling some better last night and was able to eat some Potato Soup I had made for her and keep it down. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
"THANK YOU" for the prayers for our youngest daughter. Prayer does work.

ReplyDeleteThe boys have Mater and so many others. They bought about 20 of them on holidays that they didn't have. Used their own money and were so proud that they added to their collection. They love them. I want Mater and Flo. LOL
I'm glad you enjoyed today's post. I will write another Disney post soon. There's still much to show and tell everyone.
I'm curious to what you have for me, so will be over soon.
Love and blessings,

Mary,
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun to tag along on your vacation. I saw Brandon's reflection in the car window - what a cool photo!
I love the Big Apple streets at MGM. I too would love to go to New York some day. The closest I ever got was sitting in an airplane on the runway for about an hour. Bad weather in Washington caused us to stop in NY for a while. So close, yet so far! LOL
Great photo of you and the boys and Kermit. You and Dwight are making such wonderful memories for the boys. They sure look like they are having a good time!
Hugs,
Tina
Deb,

ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteI think that was the hit of the day with the boys. They came out so fast I had a time getting the photos. LOL I was scrambling.
