Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Tackle it Tuesday is a day when we show or tell about a project that we've completed. As you all know, we've been up to our ears in renovations, which has included drywall and sanding dry wall mud, which is a very dusty business. I didn't realize that the dust had penetrated our apartment so badly until tonight (Monday) when I walked into the computer room and saw something that hadn't caught my attention before. My old fashioned walnut washstand, which houses my dog collection was buried in dust as well as things that didn't belong there. This is what I saw:

Quite a mess, isn't it? All of the white dust on the washstand is dust that has sifted through the house while we've been renovating. I haven't dusted this area since we started the renovations. So, I decided I'd tackle this for Tackle it Tuesday.

With a little elbow grease, a dry dust cloth for the washstand, a wet dustcloth and a dry one for the dogs and a can of Pled*ge, this was the result just 20 minutes later.

What a difference a few minutes makes. When I was done, I resolved to tackle more jobs for Tackle it Tuesday. This is one small task completed for the time being and it is one corner of the house that isn't covered in dust.

If you would like to participate in Tackle it Tuesday, follow this link to 5 Minutes for Mom. It's a great incentive to tackle both big and small household chores.

Have a great Tuesday and remember to do a kindness that will make someone smile. ~Blessings, Mary~

  1. I'm back! I love your dog collection, and it looks so nice. I have lots more tackles I need to do, but don't know if I'm brave enough to show the "befores."

The books - some of them are wonderful series, so you'd need to start at the beginning. I love all of them!

  2. I've done Tackle it Tuesday before and am often amazed at how much I can get done if I just start. You dogs look much better!
PS - I know what you mean about that dust. I can't keep up with it here either. I'll be glad when our kitchen project is done for that reason too!

  3. Looks great Mary! I did battle with sheet rock dust each time we did a remodeling job here. It just clings to everything doesn't it!

  4. That is a cute collection...and wow, it is amazing how spending just a few minutes makes a difference sometimes!

I've never done a Tackle it Tues. but I am tackling the tiny spare room which had become a catch-all. It's turning back into the little school and play room it's suppose to be!

Anyway, good for you Mary! I'm sure the little doggies are thanking you! ;)
    Have a great week!

  7. Just goes to show it doesn't take but a few minutes to do some cleaning jobs:-) I don't have any renovations going on and yet I still have dust everywhere...I know it comes from the carpets and that's why I'd love to eventually have them all ripped out and just have laminate flooring put down. Love your dog figurines collection!!

I was so upset with my internet yesterday, tried commenting on your blog a couple of times and each time my internet would go down so I finally just gave up! Seems to be ok today..thank goodness! lol

Friday afternoon would be a good time to call me:-) xoxo

  11. Wow - I need to join "Tackle it Tuesdays". I've got a ton of little jobs that I just keep putting off. If I knew I was taking a picture of it and posting it online, I'd probably get better at getting those things done! lol

But I'll be out of town next Tuesday and probably the one after that...so maybe by the middle of August I'll get with the program. (I've marked my calendar!)Boy, I'll be glad when school starts back up....

  12. It is amazing what happens when you start repairs. Saturday, as soon as Honey Bear stated nailing siding on, one of my sconces fell off the wall above the fireplace and broke. Quickly, I remeoved all other breakables from the mantle.

  13. Will one project down and more to conquer. Sounds like you intend to be wonder woman today. I make a list of tasks and it gives me great pleasure to mark them off the list when task complete. I bet most of those doggies were gifts. Peace
