Michelle and Barry gave Brandon a very nice picture frame for a graduation gift. It had a wide mat around it especially for signatures. On Thursday I picked Brandon up and we went to the school so he could get the signatures of some of his teachers.
We were able to get every teacher that taught Brandon while he went to his current school, except for two that have moved on. We got his principal and vice principal and the school secretaries to sign it as well. This will be a nice memory for him in future years. He will be able to look back and remember all of the people who helped him through his elementary school years.
Hello Mary
ReplyDeleteThat is a really nice memento of the years he spent at that school
Much better than those awful (well to me) calico signature teddy bears soem use
Take care
Cathy
What a good idea! It will mean a lot to him in the future!
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful He will love it in the years to come..m..
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh....I have very few items from my elementary days, and how I wish I had more. Those that I do have are great memoirs. Brand is gonna cherish this in years to come.
ReplyDeleteI find myself even looking back with my kids' things from that that I saved.
They gave him a treasure.
That was a very good idea and you took the time to make it happen. As I said before you are a very wonderful Grandma that the boys will always treasure. Gully Washer. Wow, didn't know they had those there. The south with our humidity are famous for them. Today is Puppy's burpday and the weatherman said it was gonna be the HOTEST day of the year with heat index of 101-107 degrees. Yikes, sounds like an indoor party. Peace
ReplyDeleteThat is such a nice picture of Brandon - and the autographs will be priceless someday. I have wonderful memories of those early years in Arkansas, but only remember one teacher's name, first grade. So that was a great idea. I hope his future school years are successful and enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good gift.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent and very forward thinking gift for Brandon. Most of my memory stuff from grade school and high school too that I had accumulated got destroyed when my house caught fire back in 1991 but for many years before that happened, I appreciated and enjoyed very much looking back on things I'd done, people I had known during those days gone by.
ReplyDeleteHi Again....LOL. I read that at google about the German Iris being 'flags'...but also in the wikipedia dot com, I found this info: I found this from wikipedia: "As well as being the scientific name, iris is also very widely used as a common name; for one thing, it refers to all Iris species, though some plants called thus belong to other closely related genera. In North America, a common name for irises is flags. Not only German iris, but from what I gather it's ALL iris. :::shrug:::
ReplyDeleteHERE
Personally, I'd prefer the word iris instead of flag.
what a perfect gift for a young man just going into high school..
ReplyDeleteit will help him to remember his teachers...
I still remember my 6th grade teacher!!! (Mr. Ettinger)
Yes, a nice memento for Brandon. One day, like when he is my age (47) and can't remember everything, he'll look back on that and be glad...I wish my parents had thought of that when I was in school. Some of my teachers I remember, others I don't.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very neat and thoughtful idea.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful idea! I wish I would have thought of that when my boys were still in school. I have a couple of my teachers who had signed my yearbook, as well as many friends so at least I have that! lol xoxo
ReplyDeleteA wonderful idea to remember you school days. Congrats to Brandon on a job well done!
ReplyDeleteNice gift for him...... He will have treasured memories of these days......
