88th Canadian Soldier Falls in Afghanistan

I am going to forego Green Thumb Sunday this week to honor Cpl James Hayward Arnal, who lost his life on July 18th while serving for Canadian Forces in Afghanistan.

Cpl James Hayward Arnal, aged 25 years, was killed by a roadside bomb Friday. He hailed from Winnipeg, Manitoba and was an experienced soldier, part of the 2nd Princess Patricia Light Infantry. He had volunteered for this year's rotation and had plans to volunteer for another tour in 2009. Cpl Arnal is the 88th Canadian to loose their life in Afghanistan.

Please pray for Cpl Arnal's family and also for the soldiers and friends who mourn his loss.

  3. That's why I'm not too keen on getting more involved in Afghanistan. This hurts my soul to know of things like this going on in the world. We had a special on CNN last night about all the American boys who've lost their lives in just the recent days over there...it's too disheartening.

  11. He gave ALL for us who enjoy freedom. Many have gone before him and unfortunately many will follow.
His family and friends have started a "YEAR OF FIRST". First Xmas, first Thanksgiving, First Mother and Fathers Day etc etc without this wonderful youngman. Their lives have been forever changed without him. Peace be with all.
