Did you know that Halloween is historically steeped in darkness? It is an ancient holiday that has changed much over the years. Today most people look at it as a time to dress up and trick or treat.
Since I have a few Halloween postcards in my collection, I thought I would share them with you. Some are ones that I've had for many years. I don't collect dark postcards. I do like to collect ones that show the fun of Halloween.
Great cards Mary! Happy Halloween!

Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour Halloween cards are so cute. My favorite is the good witch with the children, of course! Thanks for sending her over to me. :-)
Happy Halloween, Mary!
Hugs,
Renie
Thank goodness it seems the "Trick" in Halloween has vanished for most and only the "Treat" remains. And I just love your vintage Halloween postcards...particularly the girl bobbing for apples. I hope your Halloween was fun.
ReplyDeleteTrix or Treats Miz Mary!
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening!
These are so cute, thanks for sharing my friend.

Thanks Everyone for your kind comments. I've answered you all on your blogs and enjoyed my time on each of them. You are all an inspiration to me.

I just love the old lady one! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute side of Halloween (which I prefer) I was so surprised what kind of horror stuff is sold for Halloween. I only celebrated it virtually, lol ! Now I have to clean my blog. Today it is All Saints day and a day off in mostly all European countries. It is the use to go to the cimetary this day and remember the death. It is mostly celebrated in catholic countries. Belgium is 100 % catholic. I am protestant and therefore an outsider, lol !
ReplyDeleteI like that style of card less garish that modern ones
ReplyDeleteThat is just way cool!! Well, last night we ran out of candy. Our neighborhood is growing ---a whole new subdivision is behind us these days with families moving in.
ReplyDeleteBut, ya, most go to malls and what we have here in the city "Scaritage Park"...it's the city's and it's an historical area that has the old homes as museums...and it's opened at night every Halloween. So, it's a fun place to be around here these days.
Happy November 1st!! Love your cards.
Hope your Halloween went well. We had the greatest of weather for it here in the South East USA!! Yes, you got it right at my blog...it is an old perm machine!! My grandmother was a beautician and she used one like this. Sandy
ReplyDeleteMary,
