Thankful Thursday

Today was a very hectic day. I was beside myself with so much happening. Then I read Flip-Flop Floozie's blog and it made me think about what I had to be thankful for.

Today I'm thankful for:

1. Spending time with my grandsons and that their school situation is improving. We've had a lot of problems with bullying this year and the school was dragging their heels about taking care of it. We had the same problem last year. Finally, the new vice principal is taking the bullies to task.

2. Pain free legs. My legs have been terribly painful off and on now for over 3 years. The last two weeks I have experienced very little pain and for that, I am extremely thankful.

3. Good friends. I've met some wonderful people here and am thankful for each message that is posted. Thanks everyone.

4. My grandsons negative test results. Brandon had to have an EKG and an ultra sound today. Both his grandfather and his great-grandfather died at a very young age from a hereditary heart condition. Brandon is only 12, but had to be tested in order to catch any problems early. He is free and clear and doesn't have to go back for anymore tests for five years.

5. For all things of nature. The world is beautiful now dressed in her colored autumn gown.

Of course these aren't the only things I'm thankful for, but these are very high priority this week. Thanks, Sandy for reminding me to be thankful.

Thank you for the reminder to stop and be thankful for our blessings every day. Sometimes things get so busy, that we forget.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Mary,

What a blessed life a lot of us have!

I agree with Renie. Sometimes life gets so busy we forget to just slow down and be thankful for our many blessings. Thank you for reminding us of that with your post.

    Smiles,

  6. Renie,

In Canada and the US, we do have a lot to be thankful for. Yes, life sometimes gets in the way. Yesterday was one of those days and so when I read Sandy's blog, I looked at the positive side of things and gave thanks.

I hope you also enjoy your weekend. Ours is to be cool with some rain tomorrow.

    Hugs,
    Mary

  7. Sandy,

Yes, yesterday was one of those days. I was hectic from the time I set my feet on the floor in the morning.

Thank you for reminding me to look at things in a positive light and count my blessings.

Enjoy your retreat. I can hardly wait to hear all about it.

  11. Mary,

Life is whirlwind, everyone always seems to be in such a hurry. I think that it is good to slow down and take notice of the little things and the gift of nature. I hope your legs continue to do well.

  15. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. It's great to meet new friends!
I have enjoyed reading your blog and am adding you to my blog roll. Hope you don't mind.
I noticed that we are thankful for many of the same things.

Some of my ancestors were from Ontario. I know some Fitzpatrick's, McNeil's and Cryderman's lived in VanKleek Hill, some in Cornwall, and I'm not sure where else. I do genealogy and love learning about my family.
    Have a great week-end!
