Memory Verse Monday

Karen at Karen's Ramblings is hosting Memory Verse Monday, as she does every week. To join in the fun, visit Karen by clicking on the name of her website to find out all about it.

This week I chose Psalm 119:105

"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path "

There have been many times over the years when I've been assaulted by the enemy. This verse has always given me comfort at those times. Because of something that happened in my childhood, I have suffered from depression since my early teens. However, I've been able to sweep those events to the side and for the most part only remember the good times. I do not dwell on the negative, but on the positive. I have also forgiven the one who caused this depression to come into my life. For only by forgiveness can we heal.

  4. I love the verse Psalm 27:1. The Lord really spoke to me through it one day. So much so, I put it on my blog. I have trouble with worry alot. I mean ALOT (blush).

I am so glad that God's Word can light our path!

Thanks for sharing why it means so much to you. I think we all have issues in our past that we must work through. That is why the Lord asks us to fight the good fight of faith. We need to choose to believe God's truth over Satan's lies. (((Hugs)))

  7. mommy,

I saw that verse on your blog and thought it was perfect. It's hard to put our life into God's hands and not worry about anything. I took me many years to learn that lesson.

Thanks for visiting and leaving such an inspirational message.

    Blessings,
    mary

  8. Melanie,

The darkness cannot cover The Light. We must let our light shine for all to see.

    Blessings for a great week.

  9. There it is with the light. I am so glad you chose this verse. It backs up the feeling about the light that I sent to you in the email.

It is so important that we do not let our enemy put his hand over our eyes. If our eyes are dark how deep the darkness that lingers within.
May you feel the warmth of His light deep in your soul.

  13. Sharon,

It's odd how things crop up in my life and then something comes along to confirm it...like the word "light." It has shown up at every turn today.

Thanks for your comments. The graphic looks great on your website.

  17. We used to say this verse every week at Pioneer girls club. The whole 119th Psalm is about the value of God's word and how it enlightens our way.
